  1. @dabazDid you find a solution? I'm also having this problem. My file used to average 15-20 seconds to save.. now its 2-3 mins..
  2. @CerberaAwesome stuff! Thanks for sharing! I'm learning a lot more now that I have people like you all to fill in the gaps when the tutorials fall short.
  3. This, my friend, is the droid I was looking for! Many thanks!!
  4. I keep thinking I'm missing something obvious, like creating folders within the material manager... and I'm a noob so that's possible, but search results yielded little help. My project has 400+ materials and growing... so I would be appreciative for any tips/tactics for organizing them 🙂 Thanks for any assistance!
  5. @Cairyn Yes there are different material counts on some of them. @HavealotWhat exactly is a take system? Do you folks think either tactic is worth it just to reduce file size?
  6. Rather than duplicating the object (weapon) and adding a new material to it, is there a way to put all the materials (skins) on 1 object, and then turn them all off except 1 at a time? This would really reduce my project size... by a TON!
  7. I have a gold material on an object, which is reflecting nicely with the nearby objects... BUT, my colored cyc is creating an ugly red reflection in the gold. Is there a way to exclude the cyc from the gold material's reflection? So the object couldn't 'see' the cyc? Thanks so much for any assistance in advance! 😄
  8. @icecaveman thats neat, I'll check that out. @cerbera this is perfect. Very very helpful reply - thanks for the specific details on creating that. And to answer your question I have RedShift, but I'm not really using it. Just the standard C4D right now.. it's a minimal cartoon style project and RS is just not needed right now. My computers also beefy enough to handle my needs without extra help right now.
  9. I'm looking for a simple way to create heat distortion (like that you would see around a get engine). Is there a good plugin for this? Maybe it's much simpler and can be made from scratch with a couple creative ideas? This is not for an animated scene -- it's a still frame. Thanks so much in advance!
  10. Basically I love the lighting I have set up in my scene... but there are a couple objects on the face of the character which are casting weird shadows. The other fill/area lights illuminate these objects just fine without the physical sky, so I'd like to exclude these objects from casting shadows from the physical sky. But physical sky's don't have a project tab with exclude options. Still crash coursing myself in C4D, so forgive the ignorance. Thank you in advance for any assistance! PS. Hi I'm new here!
