  1. Not better, but some things were changed/removed in prior versions. For example I like the old fillet caps interface more. R20 would be my favorite version 😛
  2. I don't know, but I mainly just want to test around some things that might work better in older versions.
  3. Yeah I want to learn with it but I also just like the old interface feeling. Of course the new interface looks way cleaner but for some reason I usually like older interfaces. I looked into it, and as said above, the educational license is only for R23+
  4. Hi all, I can use Cinema 4d R23+ well enough, but I want to be able to go back to R21. Easy enough, I go to the download page for older versions. Installation works fine but then when I log into the License Manager, this error pops up. I definitely have a license, as stated on the Maxon website: When I click "Activate" under the Trial, I get this message: I looked into this error message ^ a while ago and it said that it was just outdated and the license can't register in that old of a version, but why would Maxon still offer it on their website then? I've tried deleting the licensetype.prf file, so far no luck. I've just installed Cinema 4D on a machine that I just did a factory reset on. But the same thing happened when I tried to download it before when I used R25. Any ideas? Thanks Jake
  5. No idea, the guy didn't tell me. But the new version didn't have GI so I guess just take off the GI?
  6. I wouldn't be able to have a Builder folder since it's a template and the person making it doesn't have that. The annotations as well. Thanks for the help though.
  7. Thank you guys for help!! I’ve tried those font identifiers numerous times, but for some reason most of them only give paid font options. My fonts are not paid usually (often from dafont). I don’t think my goal is what @bezo is saying, i’m not completely sure he is trying to say. I’m a huge noob 😅 My whole goal is to open a template file and see what font is used when the text is in similar nulls/fractures method as in the screenshot (also when made editable) I understand if it’s not possible, it makes sense. I was just sort of wondering if there’s a way to look at the history or something and see what font is used. Again, i’m a huge noob! Thanks Jake
  8. Hi guys!! I’m so sorry I didn’t reply, notifications didn’t show up. The problem is resolved now, the maker of the template gave me a new file. Thanks for the replies though!
  9. Hi all, I have this issue where when I use Global Illumination in render settings, the render is really dark and appears almost invisible. This is ONLY when using GI. I am using a template (lightroom) and I use the it by merging the objects (Ctrl+Shift+O). It works in the template C4D file, so there has to be some setting that is different in my project. Linear Workflow is off, like it is in the OG C4D file. It takes forever to render a single frame (when it shouldn't) and the little progress bar of rendering each frame has text under it saying "Irradiance Cache prepass" so it's got to do with Irradiance Cache. My cache location is set to a custom space and the GI cache is set to a location on my PC. I'm sorry if this is obvious, I'm a complete noob. Thanks, Jake
  10. Hi all, I have this weird issue where when I add a MoGraph object, the z position is set to really far away. Is this a known issue? This doesn't happen with all projects though. I'm using a template and it only happens in this one. Please let me know if anyone has seen this before!
  11. Hi all, I made an animation in C4D and went to render it but I got this error message: My render is being saved to a real place on my PC, not someone else's, though I did use a template. I've think it's something with this area (Irradiance Cache area?) but I would still like to be able to use this since it makes the render look better. All the online solutions are for GI Irradiance cache or File cannot render, there is nothing online about AO cache. Thanks, Jake
