  1. I've just updated to R2024.2 and R3.5.22 and I've noticed the material nodes are missing in the attributes tab. I don't have the same problem with R2023 and R3.5.22 so I'm guessing it's a problem with C4D itself. I've been unable to use R2024 due to the amount of bugs affecting my workflow and now when I was hoping these were all sorted in the latest release I find I'm still unable to use it. I need these nodes to set the material IDs. I understand there will always be bugs here and there but this isn't good enough. I have paid for 2 subscriptions and this is what I get. Not happy. R2023 R2024.2
  2. I'm running R2024.1.0 with the latest studio driver. I don't send a crash report everytime it crashes but I will from now on. I'll be using 2023 for the rest of the year as I'm under pressure but I'll run some tests over the christmas period so I can report more crashes then.
  3. That's fair enough. I know there will always be bugs that get through but unfortunately these ones are prventing me from doing my job. @Havealot I can't speak for MJV but the fact that the solver crashes so often is disappointing. I love how fast it is and I also love the way you can see the sim progressing as you cashe it but if it keeps crashing then it's of no use to me. Maybe I'm pushing it too hard but it's not an issue for bullet. Below is the type of simulations I create. Yes I am sending some bug reports but this is my crazy time of the year so I haven't had time to go through all the issues and report them.
  4. Hi Folks. Been a professional C4D user since R9.5 and overall love this program. Saying that, I'm not too happy with R2024. It crashes left right and centre. I've been using the bullet engine for complex rigid body simulations which was a great addition to c4d but as we know it only runs on one cpu core. You can only imagine my delight when I heard R2024 had a new solver that uses multiple cores on cpu and even runs on GPU. If I could run my sims in a fraction of the time, I could make more money. After a week of testing and many crashes I've saddly had to switch back. Yes I could just use the bullet engine in R2024 but there are bugs in the alembic exporter too which are not in R2023. I almost forgot about the bug in the layers attribute where you cant solo a layer. All these parts a big part of my workflow. This is the first time since R9.5 that I feel this version is not production ready. Do they not test the software before release anymore? Anyone else having issues? Regards. Kian
