  2. sounds like a cop out. Roll out a new Maxon logo and aligning product logos along with a major release number would typically signify an acceleration with fresh new features and tools in each product. They spent money slapping on a coat a of paint and some canned Copilot post in response to the heat they're getting for this bs. Laughable if my wallet wasn't so pissed.
  3. Full video here. Don't get too excited. One of the highlighted features is their new logo. The comments under the Youtube page are instructive. Oh well.

Damn... these are really sad news. The way i see it Maxon should have helped a lot more to keep this site working since it is a major source of knowledge, problem solving and data sharing community. This is essencial to keep a modern software competitive and with a strong community. without a strong and active community, software becomes less popular and then In a way i also felt somehow a bit disconnected (my fault). I used to come here a lot more often and helped whoever i could , but now i have less time and i usually solve my c4d issues in other ways. Still this the best place to find a lot of professionals, news and stuff around c4d. It helped me a lot and in way made me a better professional so i dedicate all my thanks to team that created and sustain this site. I'll try to keep contributing the way i can to help the c4d community , with knowledge, tools or other stuff, so i'll be around if anyone need help. thanks
  5. ouch.. without sounding like a boomer, back in the day a major production release (2026.0.0) would include a host of new features and some fixes. That being said this feels very underwhelming. At least SideFX crushed it with their major release.

  7. been a couple months since the last update.. .anything impending? 😛
  8. so is Ktibash now part of GSG? I know it says merger but kb3d just has 3d model kits for sale. GSG has more to offer.
  9. An announcement that is long on promise and extremely short on information. From the Founders: A New Chapter for KitBash3D and Greyscalegorilla Maybe it is so early that there isn't much to tell but honestly, to say that they are joining and that nothing is changing does beg the question "then why are you joining if everything is staying the same?" Overall, kind of a "meh" announcement. Dave

  11. I wonder how Igor could manage the burden of this server. Or wasn't he alone ? I don't even know why he left (not as admin). Did the forum belong to him in the first place at all ? My awareness of who's what is close to 0. I don't even remember how I got here.

What’s the issue with disclosing costs ? If this is all going to be said and done in a few weeks time, does it really matter at this point ? More members maybe willing to contribute if they were privy to financial requirements to keep everything going. Giving one part time employee salary as an example gives no scope or context what so ever. That number could be anywhere from 1 to a 1000 +

Please do not use this forum brand name and graphics for your own personal discord channel that has nothing to do with it. Same for any content that is not yours specifically, this is copyright infringement - thank you!

    * Dedicated server with a lot of bandwidth and disk space * Forum software + plugins * Security, spam defense * Back end administration (a person versed in web & server stuff, at least part time) * Daily moderation (mails, communication, part time person) While I can't disclose the exact numbers, one can get a sense of the cost. Not something an individual could bear. For a company it would roughly represent an expense equal to one employee (part time).

Discord isn’t the best but I think it’s a good option for now at least, mine is open to anyone and everyone who wants to join or Happy polygons

Anyone else thinking about how to stay in contact with certain members of this forum after it closes? For some, this forum was the only way to reach them. I was just going to go through my message folder and send private IM's but just wondering if there is a better way (apart from broadcasting your personal information indiscriminately). Unfortunately, your InBox only goes back so far. Personally, not a fan of Discord but I would go there if that is the best solution. If not, maybe setting up another gmail account and post it here might work. Dave

I haven't been very active this last months ... or rather years. Nor on the forum, nor 3D wise. I am still using R20 for some 3D printing projects, but am more and more focusing on CAD for that matter. Not having a GPU (old laptop here), and with all the 3D render engines being subscription based, my 3D modeling and rendering activities have slowly come to an end. Every now and again I log on to this site ... The news I just read didn't come as a surprise, but still feels like a punch in the face (or stomach). Sad news indeed. Sad to see all that knowledge provided by so many people over so many years disappear. Bye bye, C4DCafe! Bye bye, Core4D! Thank you to all whom contributed to the forum and community. The site will fade away, but not the memories.

I guess we're getting old 🙂 . But it was nice to be part of this era. Join to great community, meet great people, perhaps may help sometimes somebody, learn a lot of new things.

Wow. The end of an era. What a gut punch! I feel like I did when Cinefex closed its doors after 40 years or 32Ten (the old ILM) finally closed its doors after 49 years. Nothing is permanent. So when exactly is the site going off-line? How much time is left to say goodbye? Dave

We really should try saving this knowledge somehow. If this site goes down without some kind of backup of this insane amount of knowledge and workarounds that piled up over the years it's going to tear a giant hole into the community. Honestly, just saving the Threads + a shitty "low res" (1080p?) compressed version of every image would suffice. We don't need uncompressed PNGs and stuff.
  25. This is horrid news, I have loved being part of this forum for so many years... I know that this might sound like a daft question but why don't Maxon buy the site since it would be in their interest? Mind you you have competing software here… So maybe not…

This is the only real C4D forum, there is nothing like it. The amount of data just from me is pretty big, I managed to spam the forum in hundreds of Mb : ) Trying to collect all the scene files so it is not lost but can see a giant backup file is being generated @Corebot I know I already asked privately, but indulge me, why not sell the forum, maybe there would be interested parties...?
