  1. Just checking you have restarted the program after installing...
  2. Ewww. But also well done :) I like the little push / collision before the needle goes in... texturing is excellent as well. CBR
  3. I've recently been noticing a couple of new C4D tuts in my YouTube suggestions, and having checked out quite a lot of them now, I can honestly say this man should be more widely known ! Excellent tuts, that often show various ways of doing things, and have a lot of information that even medium - advanced users might find helpful. Maybe he's on the cafe ? So anyway, thought I'd do my bit and share that here. Here's his tutorial playlist. for anyone interested. In his latest tut, he's modelling a wooden Starship Enterprise ! CBR

    Plugin for dirt

Cloner or X-particles for bigger dirt particles, TFD for dust clouds. CBR
  5. Hmmm. I'm on a PC so can't test the Mac version. You did a restart of C4D I assume ?
  6. You did unzip the file, yes ? I just checked it with R18, and it installed perfectly first time.
  7. Forgot to say: sIBL is better than just using a Sky object and an HDRI because it provides 2 separate versions the HDR image; one sharp and detailed for reflections, and another blurry for light mapping. This gives a very pleasing and grain-free GI setup, and is often complemented by a sunlight light source or additional lights which enhance the HDR environment lighting. It really is full of win for me :)
  8. What ?! An HDRI is not a light, and can be very quick to render, especially if it is only doing reflections. It is GI that takes time, not the HDRI that GI might be using. sIBL is excellent, btw - I use it all the time :) CBR

    HOT4D download?

I just downloaded it, and the FTTW files from here with no problems at all... so I guess the Valkaari site is back up ! CBR

    Fold My Design Help!

Go into the Content Browser, select presets folder, then twirl down search field and type 'fold'. If it's there in the demo version, that will find it. CBR
  11. Couldn't resist jumping ahead a bit, even though there is still modelling to do (rear LEDs, screws), so here is round 1 of the renderings...
  12. You stand on one pedal, then step up with the other foot, lean forward, and go ! Here's my favourite nutter from Finland on his... I don't ride mine like that... but I could :)

    Music Video

I do like your little blue demon thing :) He looks like he's very nicely topologized. CBR
  14. Yes, I've got a nice pair of brown trousers for when I'm going maximum speed - it is properly terrifying to go that fast standing up. Boys and their toys, hey ?
  15. When I'm not C4Ding, I am usually out hovering around the countryside on various newfangled glidey devices, but my most recent acquisition, the wonderful Gotway MSuper18V3 is a true monster of an EUC, capable of nearly 50 Kph, and with a 35 mile range. It's also a veritable modelling challenge, and I have some down time, so off I go... You join me as I am almost at the end of modelling, some tweaks left to do, and a few more details to add, but generally pleased so far that it's quads all the way. The tyre, knee pads, and pedals have been the most enjoyable things to model so far, whereas the hardest has been getting the various contours and panel indents of the main shell casing right. CBR

    NEU DECO

Oh that is some very rewarding artwork :) Especially like the last one.
  17. Dammit I knew you were going to ask me that :) And now of course I can't find it. Maybe I'm confusing C4D with another app - I am sure I have seen that tick box somewhere, and I really thought it was C4D. I was so sure I even checked versions back to R14 to see if anything had changed, but no. Could it be possible that button was in R13 or lower - I don't have those installed any more so can't check... anyway - sorry to be giving you duff advice ! :)
  18. Did you use object glow or material glow for that ? I suspect it's the latter, but might benefit from being the former ! Object glow has a 'glow behind' tickbox you can turn off which you could use so your glows didn't pass through things in front of them, if you see what I mean.
  19. Ah yes. The statue will be holding the golden quadraform. Up high, like a shining beacon of example to the masses.
  20. No. But you are in line to win the much-coveted 'Galactic Golden Quad Statuette'.
  21. Of course I noted that, Inquisitor Vector. It's gone on your annual report.
  22. Quite aside from the female 'features', that's a damn sexy bit of mesh work there :)
