  1. Me too, and I particularly would appreciate a macro for that ! :) CBR
  2. Yep, even if we can do it with Normal scaling or by typing in the coordinates manager, it would still be useful to have 'Make Planar On...' buttons like Max does. I look forward to someone telling you how to do that ! :) CBR CBR
  3. Awesome :) So many pretty lights ! And whereas usually with these things I am reaching to turn the volume down (or off in some cases), today I was very much turning it up. Lovely job. What sort of render times are you getting per frame, and what are your render settings !! :) CBR
  4. Indeed it was, 2 days after I posted :) CBR
  5. No they can't - the free version has been withdrawn because Navie has been acquired by Insydium the XParticles guys... CBR
  6. I think that hat rack is just a bit too small - don't people usually reach up to put their hats on those things ? And I think I've only ever seen them made out of wood for some reason ! :) Also, if I may, I think your shadows are really very black and could do with being a little less dense, and the floor seems a little evenly lit compared to the rest of it, or perhaps it's just a little too bright ? Lastly, whilst I appreciate that the richer people are the less taste they tend to have when home decorating, are you sure you want the red of that carpet next to that orange on the floor ? ;) CBR
  7. Nicely done ! Lookin goooood..... :) CBR
  8. You are right that no tris are necessary here, and we can certainly help if you have trouble solving any... Interesting project - will watch with interest to see where you take it ! CBR
  9. Ha ha - nice that VW are still making them in 200 years :) Modelling looks nice, but we don't know for sure til we can we see your wires ;) CBR
  10. Yep, you can certainly go the Normal channel route instead, although the amount of bump you want is SO minute relative to the scene scale, in this instance bump might just be enough. Easy enough to try both I guess ! Do post what happens if you turn parallax on ! ;) CBR
  11. Dammit, I've been itching to help you out with those loading bay doors, but clients have been keeping me a bit nose-to-the-grindstone recently, so I haven't had much time to experiment on your behalf. But I did wonder if one viable approach wouldn't be making them in 3 vertical sections (top and bottom plates and the middle bits) so that your edge loops could be independent of each other. Just a thought - I see you've pretty much sorted them anyway :) Something else has caught my eye if you are interested... Those little luminant port-holes there - they are very 'on the surface' at the moment. What about using an inverse of the luminance map (possibly minutely blurred) to subtly bump those windows into the mainframe ever-so-slightly ? That might add another little contributory factor towards the perceived 'bigness'... what do you think ? CBR
  12. I think that's very nice ! :) But if you're not asking a question we should put it in the WiPs / Final Renders section. I'll do that for you. Looks like a good model. The internals look particularly decent, but for me I could do with less blowing out on the Drive Bay racks at the top right there... Also, and this is just a personal preference thing so feel free to ignore me, but I'd change that frontal yellow light to something cooler and bluer, just to more nicely focus the eye on, and contrast with the red... CBR
  13. Oh I'm not sure it will, but its particles can have some light reactive properties, which Cinema object's don't AFAIK. Just out of interest, what would be the point of having a light meter in C4D ? CBR
  14. I think this was discussed before, and the upshot is no it can't. XParticles can, although that won't run on lite of course... CBR
  15. Well worth the hassle though - that is one damn fine luminance map you got there :) CBR
  16. It really does my friend, it really does...
  17. Hey Cafe Last night @VECTOR told me what he had been up to these last few weeks, and that him and @everfresh been secretly organizing a donation fund for me and my mum while we're getting through some difficult bits. What can I say - I am absolutely blown away by the kindness and support of people here in this amazing community. There are simply no words that could convey how grateful we are to everyone that helped or left a message. Thank you so much. We will be making a donation to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Foundation who are desperately starved of resources but still do incredible work and make a massive difference to the lives of people dealing with terminal illness and their families. Love and light, J

    Cinema 4d Plugin

If you have no knowledge about code you cannot build a plugin ! You need to go to code school ! CBR
  19. Oh OK -that's not GSG HDRI studio is it ?! Dammit, sorry - got my wires crossed there. Yes, in this setup, just disable seen by camera in compositing tags on both sky objects, which as you have discovered already, will do the same. CBR
  20. This is possible within the HDRI Studio controls. Under the main tab click off 'seen by camera', and in the seamless floor tab turn off Background to see some of your background object. To see all of it you will need to kill the floor as well. CBR
  21. Indeed ! Looking good so far. Are you going to glow the luminant bits or do you think the scale is a bit big for that ? Talking of scale - that is pretty much the biggest challenge you face if using the native renderers - making this look truly huge... One technique to try and mitigate that would be to use loads of small lights on the surface. Another is to have lots of scale-reference objects in the scene like transport ships and whatnot... Btw - are you modelling this at real world scale ? CBR
  22. Don't have it myself, but I have heard mixed things about RF for C4D - some people really like it, others complain it is not as good as the standalone version, and feel it is rather limited in Cinema. having said that there has been another version since then where things may have improved. I 'd have a go on the demo and see how it's looking for you... Edit: just seen you are running C4D Demo, in which case you can't install any plugins... CBR
  23. He-hey ! :) Thanks for the share... wonder what will happen to the free version, if it hasn't been pulled already :) CBR
