  1. @JustinLeducI replied on Twitter with a short Video anti-tutorial.
Even Raycasting won't solve your problem in the case of the Teapot as it would either obscure the body of the pot on the LEFT if you consider "shadows" or if no shadows, it will include the inner part of the handle in the RIGHT selection.

As I see this, it's not possible to do that procedurally. Having said that, depending on the final model and how much you can deviate from the original idea, something similar may be possible... but needs a bit (a lot) of R&D.

In the second volume we build up on the fundamentals and get familiar with modelling tools, concepts and techniques needed to produce quality models. Often neglected elsewhere, but vitally important topics such as precise transformations and topology are covered in depth. Towards the end we build a real model using plethora of modelling tools and techniques to get your modelling skills up to needed level. Trainings are in English, easy to follow and packed with valuable information.

Thank you very much for your offer but I haven't received the email either.

yeah, so it's a voxel grid data with neighbouring relations.

    precisely!

    Calling all users:

Tomorrow on "Ask The Trainer" we are showing more Pyro stuff. Come and ask and I can do it live for you, and if anyone has more questions we'll be very happy to show you.

It is based on some kind of particles though, I believe...

Actually no. It's 100% grid based. No motion is generated, only voxel values for the 7 grids you see in the Pyro Object.
Motion can be created and propagated to Particles and Bullet Dynamics by using the Field Force and a velocity Grid as the Source...

Tutorials coming for all this in a few weeks...

Our system vendors are Lenovo and HP. "Puget Systems," is not an approved vendor. Some of the components in your parts list may not be an option from Lenovo or HP. Example, in the high end systems, Lenovo and/or HP may only offer Intel's Xeon Processors or may only offer DDR4 Ram.

I think your company needs to redefine its vendors.

You need to lobby for that, otherwise you will be paying for it every day, unless you're on a hourly rate... 🙂

Your productivity is going to be lower and the PC more expensive...

  6. The way to create "richer" splines in C4D is MoGraph.

That's what the MoSpline was partially created for. Since a MoSpline is a MoGraph Object, similar to the Matrix Object, it allows for similar functionality.

If anyone wants, please let me know and I can post some examples, or start a new thread to keep this one void of Off Topic distractions.

@noseman Looks like a very elegant solution. Did you have to tweak weights? Or was it auto-bind?

Auto, and a couple of Smooths... it took me 15 seconds 🙂
But it was all based on your paper image and post, so 99.99% credit goes your way

  8. Certification Chat NEW Schedule:

On Tuesday, March 29rd 2022, 12 noon Eastern Time, join us for a live conversation on C4D Certifications, hosted by @nosemangr. Ask your questions live and show your faces if you want. Microphones and Cameras will be enabled, but not mandatory.

We'll be discussing and exploring the options for becoming Certified in Cinema 4D, both as an artist and as an trainer, so if you have questions about the process, or are wondering how you know if you are ready to take the certification test, this is your opportunity to join us.
