  1. I've been working on this character for a couple of days, i wanted to revisit the toy subject again, but this time with a more rubbery, soft plastic look, i also wanted to create a character that was completely opposite to anything i'd usually do, so with that in mind i came up with a completely new style of character, Peeping Tom. The kind of guy waiting in the bushes outside his house spying on unsuspecting people and loving it, i'm still tweaking and playing around with the materials, i also did a second version of the head with a balaclava :D some 3k renders to feast your eyes on, just view them full size peace :)

    Donut Derick

they're definitely gonna turn up with a bit or two missing
  3. VECTOR

    Donut Derick

    Yea I think that's a strong possibility

    Donut Derick

He does look yummy doesn't he, not sure how he'll react to people trying to eat him though
  5. Just a quick viewport turntable of a wip donut character named Derek :D updates to come
  6. Back on the interceptor for a while after taking a break, decided i wasn't keen on the mid wing cannons i made the first time around, so i redesigned them and did them again, i'm also adding more details to other parts of the ship, i must be mad because it's already over 11.5 million polys subdivided! more updates to come.
  7. Tfd maybe but xparticles is a completely different story and yea because Well Maya is the go to industry standard, but I can see that changing in the near future with what side FX are doing with Houdini, there are many tools and softwares in the production pipe line and I just can't see MAXON delving heavily into the partical effects/sim area where the likes of insydium are already way ahead, they know that Maya dominates that area of the industry and I'm sure they also know that a new advanced partical and sim system isn't going to change that, so they'll continue to concentrate on the areas they do excel at

    Leaving C4D-Land.

Yea that video is very misleading indeed, anyone just watching that in passing would more or less instantly be put off

    Leaving C4D-Land.

Man..this would do my head in, seriously. If that's what it's like to do something as simple as a basic table then i can imagine it getting even more tedious as the difficulty of the model increases, Houdini is awesome in many ways, but i just couldn't work that way
  10. Can't see it happening to be honest, MAXON know Xparticles, pretty much have that side of things locked down, with the addition of real flow and Turbulence fd also on the market. Another thing i'd love to see, which im certain also won't happen is being able to loop select points on the ffd cage, manually selecting point, especially if you have a rather high segment count ffd, is tedious to say the least, and would be made a lot easier with that function
  11. Odd minor fluctuations but nothing that would indicate an increased load on the cpu, fan speed stays much the same aswell
  12. Weird yea I'll have a Look, I'll get the motherboard monitor app open as well which gives me all the fans speeds etc
  13. hmm nothing my end, opened up my cpu monitoring app as well and no change when logging onto cgsociety
  14. Nice! i've forgotten what a holiday is :D
  15. Damn man that sucks, might as well be a rock then haha still busy is good, better than no work ;))
  16. Nice work dude, where you been bro? under a big ass rock or something ? :P
  17. Ha all the more reason for you to come home, Bob
  18. AH, my mistake i knew it was something along those line
  19. Yea, i know everfresh was having an issue with it especially
  20. Nodal material system, more improvements to view port speed and performance, I imagine at least 1 new modelling tool, new uv tools, improvements to pro render, maybe a fix for open subdiv to stop giving @Cerbera a reason to spam MAXON with emails ;) some updates to the rigging and animation side of things, also I'm not sure if it's been sorted with the latest R19 update but there was still a bug with the knife tool, making unwanted cuts much the same as we had with R18 when it came out

    Best software

It's not all Rosie in the Maya camp at the moment, there are alot of unhappy users, much in the way people on here complain about C4D , much is the same over there.
