    What’s the issue with disclosing costs ? If this is all going to be said and done in a few weeks time, does it really matter at this point ? More members maybe willing to contribute if they were privy to financial requirements to keep everything going. Giving one part time employee salary as an example gives no scope or context what so ever. That number could be anywhere from 1 to a 1000 +

    Damn this sucks, 5 euros really wasn’t a lot to ask for, I completely forgot about it most of the time as it was such a low amount. is there no option To bring ads back? Yes its annoying but the alternative of not having the forum at all is surely a bigger concern @Corebot

    I have a discord with around a thousand memebers, most are maya / blender users with a mixture of hobbyists and professionals, from the likes of adobe, frame store , autodesk etc etc. I’ve not made a C4d portion yet because there was no need for it , but happy for you guys to join and ill create a sub category for you
  11. If the VFX sub on Reddit is anything to go by, some dudes entire 5 person concept art team got replaced with a midjourney subscription lol, I really don’t think it’s too far into the future that certain roles start going in that direction .

  13. it doesn’t surprise me tbh, the amount of shitty management in charge of these major studios is astounding. It’s always the artists that get the rough end of the stick in these situations. Things are in a rather bleak state of affairs, honestly can’t see the work load returning to pre strike numbers. Luckily I don’t have to rely On these big studios for work, but those that do are certainly feeling it.
  14. Pretty sad news that Technicolor, owners of Studios such as the Mill and MPC have begun administration proceedings. Citing poor bounce back of projects after the strikes and covid as the main reasons behind their financial situation. I’m sure poor management behind the scenes has a lot to do with it also. Looks like the US side of the Mill at least has branched off creating a new studio.   15. Some progress on my latest character, not entirely sure on the direction of this yet, i feel like she needs a massive sword or something , maybe to slay the undead, updates to come XD

Some of you from back in the day may remember i started making a version of this some years ago, and made a decent amount of progress. i've since lost those files on a hard drive somewhere , so decided to scratch that hard surface itch and remodel from scratch. spent some time today starting on the eye assembly, i've got some quite good reference but will as you can image have to use some creative licence and make up the stuff i can't see. updates to come .

  18. so ran out of time for this, gave my self a budget, other wise i'd of never finished it XD would have liked to tweak the lighting some more but alas , here we are. will probably add a few more details before i print it. Over all it matches the creepy vibe i was going for
  19. They offer the same licence for Maya, just over 300 for the full package as long as you’re under the 100k threshold in earnings a year. It’s an incredibly good deal IMO, I have fairly good relations with Autodesk and they’ve been incredibly helpful with somethings I’ve been working on behind the scenes. However for anyone who makes money from C4D, the license pays for its self fairly easily, depending what your daily rates are, it equates to a few days worth of work. It’s a shame they don’t offer a more accessible way into C4D for Hobbyists, but clearly that’s not Maxons priority here, and whilst the amount of subscriptions sold goes up every year it’s not going to change.

For anyone whos not heard of meatcayon, he makes some disturbing yet highly entertaining 2d animations, one of my favourites is his Pinocchio short from a few years ago, on our Discord channel we're running a spooky October modelling challenge so i thought i'd do a 3d version for fun, i'll also be printing this for my desk 😄 here's the progress so far bandicam 2024-10-12 21-38-16-002.mp4

  23. Heard about this Today, sad times for sure, it was only some months back that i did the cover + article for 3d world. sad to see it go, i wonder if the other magazines under the same umbrella will go also
