  1. Said screw it, and rerenderd the whole character with some lighting and material tweaks
  2. Not afraid to say, tangled is peak Disney imo, he was such a fun yet tricky character to do justice because he’s so recognisable. I played around with the hair quite a bit, with a few different approaches before I settled on this one. Maybe I should change that 😂 redid my website some time ago so it’s looking a little nicer now. I really need to update that commercial page with some more projects it’s looking a bit bare. I’ve done a few really cool toy project lately that I can’t share which is really annoying 😕 And some headphones for beats which I guess don’t really fit my website niche. As always appreciate the kind words of encouragement Dave !
  3. turntable 1.mp4 Taken from my full Maximus model i made Some time ago. Can provide additional Wires for Dave @3D-Pangel 😂

😮 Down Voted !? shocking 😄 Horns where a bit of trial and error, turned out alright in the end, i feel like i could've gotten more out of the pose, but alas was tight for free time so thought screw it. I did enjoy the Skull variation though, not your typical skeletor skull but thought it looked cool !

Dave has spoken! Duly noted for next time , maybe I should have done what I did with some of the others and transitioned to viewport timetable without materials

  13. Aw man me too ! That automated message brings back memories! Recently placed through the black mesa remake and it brought back some fond memories! I also tried out the transit section someone made in unreal with modern graphics. My god it looks fantastic !
  14. Nice work Gaza, are you using density maps for the fur? Same thing can be applied for length etc. That way you can better control the areas you want fur and the areas you don’t , where it needs to be shorter / longer tapper to nothing etc

Thanks man! Article was a new experience as I’m no teacher. I found that odd too, with the editor Rob being a c4d guy. Ha! It might be. @everfreshgave it to me years ago and it’s the best hdri I’ve ever used lol, makes everything look awesome! Talking of Pooh I just did a rerender without the alien.

Thanks man! Wasn’t overly sure on the pose, was quite limited with options but I think it worked in the end.

Thanks so much Dave, that means a lot coming from you. Honestly I spent probably over 50 hours on this model, with a good chunk of that dedicated to the boom box details half of which ended up being hidden in the final version and the roller skates, as well as colour grading and other bits in photoshop. Some very long days / nights to get this done for the deadline. for the tongue started with a cube and scaled it, then rotated it around a few times and extruded the details out afterwards, even went as far as to change angle of the one on the left foot as it would hang down a bit at the angle. I’ve yet to see it in person as I haven’t got a physical copy yet but I’m hoping it looks good. V

From the get go, the character was created specifically for the the tutorial however, due to a pretty tight deadline I decided to get everything modelled and rendered first, as they were eager for the finished piece to design the cover, went back afterwards and deconstructed it and did the write up.

Yea it’s a shame as you can’t go majorly into individual details as you’re limited to a 100 words or so per step, so really can only give a brief overview of the process. Still it was a good learning experience lol Thanks man, quite surreal.

Yea I’m gonna go grab a copy when I get a chance, don’t be too harsh on the write up XD tutorials are definitely not my forte but considering the constraints didn’t come out too bad.

Thanks Mike! Was super stressful at the time due to a tight deadline, I’m also not much of a writer but was well worth it in the end.
