never meant you were wrong at all, just that i think it can be used in more than one situation, i agree that when you think of hard surface things like robotics, machinery ect do come to mind, i suppose it would depend on which context/situation you where using the term in, either way great modelling, always glad to see people trying to help others on the forum :D -
I'm also not 100 percent agreed on his classification of hard surface/ modelling.if you asked 20 different artist Wether they classed hard surface as a modelling techniques or type of object being modelled you'd Likley get 20 different answers. Personally I see hard surface modelling as a technique rather than a topic. I.e modelling with out the use of subdivisions.

I would of done this with out hn as well to be honest as it's a fairly simple shape and without hn there's no need for extra supporting edge loops ect and it's a lot easier to bevel a point to create the holes.

i like it not sure on the position though, maybe somewhere near the top, its difficult as you said your restricted by the pre made themes

thanks man, thats an easy one, texture view is off , if you press the N key you'll notice a little menu pop up, with some options , like wire frame, hidden lines, lines and others , you'll also notice one that says texture, press the associated key, which in this case is Q and it ill turn the textures back on in the view port

looking good bro, would look good if one of the tables was tipped over, maybe the furthest one? with that much chaos going on else where in the scene i doubt the tables would be be on their feet ;)

I appreciate that bro, already the Café is improving and looking more professional, I think that would be a good idea man, the cafes looking good but there's still some ways to go before its on the same level visually as the other big sites like cg talk ect, id be willing to make a donation, as I'm sure other members would aswell if it means improving the Café for everyone, to help pay for a professional to custom design the Café for us, this is a valuable tool for everyone so I don't think it would be unreasonable for some of the members to give something back ; )

Is there a way we could incorporate a the latest gallery images back on the home page like is was before, and simular to 3dtotal site? Rather than having to go specifically to the gallery.

Had a look at it bro and to be honest I still think envision dark I think it's called is by far the best looking. It's. Pretty damn sexy in my opinion ;) I don't know how the other members feel about it but although it's a nice option to have alternate themes personally I think we'd be better off just having the one, so that we all see the Café in the same way, maybe have a vote as to which is the most popular overall?
