  1. The issue I have with a lot of C4D training is that it is render engine specific which has only fractured the community more.
  2. While I have NOT abandoned C4D I now use Blender for all my product renders (about 30% of my work). I feel I was forced to leave since there is no longer a PBR render engine included in Cinema and Cycles X is amazing to work with. Lighting concepts are the same across any 3D DCC so it was an easy transition. I look at Blender as just another tool to help get the job done and it really is quite a wonderful addition to my toolset.
  3. Here's the old python script from Frank. Run the script and point it to your material file. It works for me in R18. parse_mtl.zip
  4. Yes, I bought it in the early 80's when my daughter was taking lessons and I did not care for the new Casio's at the time. It weighs a ton from all the tuning forks/inside components but that sound is what makes it all worthwhile...now if I could only remember where I put my Leslie speaker...
  5. My youngest son was home for the holidays and he made me drag out my old 1975 Rhodes Stage keyboard for a quick play...I forgot how much fun I had with that beast. Getting back into music during the pandemic seems to be quite common these days.
  6. I have 2 licenses with my Indie subscription that allows me the option to run it on 2 computers. You can transfer them a limited number of times (10?).
  7. I was going to buy E-Cycles with their Black Friday sale but I wanted to wait and test Cycles X first. Can't wait to crank out a few renders!
  8. Yes it was removed in R24 but there is a workaround online that will let you use the R23 bridge in R24.
  9. No connection is needed to use the app. You can download it to your computer to use whenever you want.
  10. I only use Substance Painter in my workflow so the other apps are of no interest to me.
  11. You can also pick up a perpetual version of Substance Painter on Steam for 33% off. It includes free updates up to the end of 2022.
  12. Cool stuff indeed! Makes me want to pull out my OLD FMF mags and reminisce about the good old days.
  13. Good to hear you are doing well!
  14. Are you going to apply Kent?
  15. Why have so many people left?
  16. A lot of Three.js scripting!
  17. Exporting your model to GLTF and into Sketchfab as IGOR suggests is a good option. I've converted hundreds of CAD files to GLTF and Sketchfab for web based applications but it helps if you know a good Three.js developer. Does your scene contain any animation? How large is your scene file?
  18. @3D-PangelI use Houdini mostly for fluid and grain simulations (I have clients in the mining industry) and can tell you it is a lot faster to work with than X-Particles or Realflow (I have them both). The presets on the top shelf are set up to easily create a sim with one click to get you started and I do not think they are any more complex than XP especially working with viscous fluids. Each setup has a similar network workflow but my suggestion would be to download the free version and have a play for yourself...it's a lot of fun!
  19. Wow, impressive portfolio...and he's a 3D Coat guy too, cool!
  20. Well done Igor, this is just the beginning!
  21. I really like the looks of an unbiased renderer!
