  1. @hvanderwegenHere is a pic of my IDLE temps: https://imgur.com/diLfxJH
OK so I took of the Coldplate. You can see in the Pics the spread of the Thermal Paste that was applied, also the wrong Back plate was used as you can see in the pics. This wrong backplate was for the previous Intel CPUs, how ever it did provide a closer fit on the CPU since it was hitting the 4 screws on the back of the MB as you can see in the pic. Now I have Installed the correct backplate that fits perfectly. And still the results are no good, now they are a little worse even.. 😞

  2. @imashination I just tried with the radiator removed from the Case, placed it next to the case with nothing to obstruct the airflow, still no change...

No, the plastic is removed for sure, I know that can be a common mistake but I made sure it is removed here...

Sure there is Thermal paste added on the CPU before putting the Coldplate

The Pump, I just connected it to a SATA port with a supplied converter, as the manufacturer instructions. This way the PUMP gets constant 12 volt and spill all the time at full speed, I can feel the PUMP case vibrating, so it is spinning..

Radiator fans are always spinning at 25% as far as what Armory create and some other Monitoring programs show...

Can not hear water, but when I hold the Pipes I feel vibration...

Coldplate screwed on good for sure...

    Nothing blocking the fans...

Could the problem be that on the AIO it is NOT specified that it is for the 1700 socket? But can be mounted good, and covers the CPU completely...?

P.S. this is the AIO I have...   https://www.amazon.co.uk/Watercooling-Quiet-Pure-Loop-360mm/dp/B08K3P1KRY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=ZQ0XAG4FI05D&keywords=be+quiet+pure+loop+360&qid=1651010519&sprefix=be+quiet+pure+loop+360%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-1

What GPU do you have in there?  Maybe that is dumping a lot of heat in your case?  Note Mash's comment about the vertical mounting. If the GPU fans are close to the glass side that might be starving the GPU of air - causing it to get hotter than normal - and current GPU's are pretty toasty to begin with. That heat might be adding the to demands on your top rad.

EDIT: Sorry - pretty much just wrote what Mash has already suggested...

It is a 1080 🙂 The temps are the same even like this with the case fully opened, but when I do render with Arnold the GPU is idle, not hot at all, around 35 degrees Celsius...

The point of the photo was so that we could see the rest of the case. which you've removed. Basically we need to see what the fans are pulling air through. If you have a solid glass front panel and solid metal top panel then there is no chance of keeping this system cool. If you have the model name of the case we can also use that to check it out.

Regarding fans, it looks like you have 2 fans at the front pulling air into the case, 3 fans at the top pulling air in, and only a single exhaust fan at the back. This will make for an incredibly unbalanced system. You need to have the top fans flipped over so they are blowing air out the top, not pulling it in.

A vertical gpu also wont help, with the fan blades right up against the glass it will struggle to cool itself compared to a horizontal arrangement

The top of that case is also very closed off just with the metal framework, like half of that radiator mounting area is solid flat metal with a small gap in the middle

OK I understand now, my bad. Here is the case that I have... https://www.thermaltakeusa.com/s500-tg-mid-tower.html
So the plan was to maybe use the case like this, not close it back up at all if it helps... or maybe get a full open air case like the TT Core P3... What do you think, could this case be the reason I am getting these temps...? The first setup was just like you said, the top fans, that are the fans of the radiator were pulling air OUT of the case, so I taught since the air in the case is already kind of warm, maybe that is the reason why the water in the radiator is not being cooled, so I flipped them in order to pull fresh air from the outside trough the radiator in hopes that the 2 front fans would push it all out on the back with the little help from the back fan... ???

    - maybe check if the pump is connected to the right socket on the motherboard. as far as I understand it it should not be connected to the cpu cooler socket but instead the ventilators should be connected to that.

    - check the thermal paste. update the bios of the motherboard.

    - feel if the pump is running (vibrating).

    - the pump should be in a place where it always gets water / where the water flows to basically as far down as possible. that said it normally is good enough if it is not at the top.

In the picture that you can find on the link, the Blue arrow shows where the pump is in this AIO. So there should be no problem with that since the Radiator is on the top, the small air pocket is on the top and all should be good. The PUMP is connected to CPU_OPT and I can feel it vibrating/spinning. The AIO 3 fans are connected to a splitter that came with them and that one is connected to the CHA_Fan2... Motherboard bios was updated before win Install to the latest version.
When I start aa render the Radiator fans do speed up.. Not sure what is wrong, still have to go back and try to reinstall the Cold plate over the CPU, might not be tight enough... The MB I have is the ASUS Rog Strix B660-f...

Most likely you didnt screw on the AIO tight enough, used too much or too little paste

Thats essentially what happens 95% of the cases, 5% your pump is broken

And is it possible that the closed case can also contribute? Would I be better of with a Open case? something like the Thermaltake Core p3...? I will reinstall the AIO on the CPU, to see if anything changes...

  7. @Mike A @Cerbera @Pinin THX for the idea, Well as far as I know the AIO is fitted correctly...What I did so far is strip the PC Case, took off all the sides and turned the AIO FANS so that they pull in the air from the outside.  Now you can see the new results, non of the cores are hitting 100. Average is around 93...
Could it be possible that the AIO is not 1700 socket type? However it fits over the CPU just fine, it is a lot bigger then the CPU, so the CPU is covered...
What could be the normal temps of this CPU during render in C4D rendering with Arnold...

  8. Hi 😄 Ok so I finally got enough money to upgrade my system 🙂 I jumped 8 gens, from i7 Devils Canyon to the i9 12900k. I knew this CPU runs hot and did my research but did not know it ran this hot, is this normal? or can I do something to make it run cooler While on full load rendering with Arnold in C4D R25...
I have the Be Quiet Pure LOOP 360 AIO with 3 fans for the CPU cooling, a closed case and a huge fan in the front of the case to push fresh air in it so the AIO is pulling out of the case cooling the water and the hot air goes out of the top of the case...

  9. Hello 😄 Can anyone help me set up the textures on this Model for ARNOLD Render Engine? I have tried a lot and watched a lot of tutorials, but I can not seem to get a good look for him, as realistic as possible... Please help 😄 You can download the model and the textures from the link... Please do not use this model in any other way, it is a part of an ongoing project...  THX in advance 😄

Could you post an example of the format you want to achieve ?

    Videos are not interactive.

I am thinking of something like this vide maybe, but instead of the camera PIVOT being on the middle. you would rotate the object... kind of like what you would do in Marmoset Viewer, just without the need for a separate program? I guess that is the best way I can explain it...
So the goal is to send the finished product in a Discord group of people who are not all 3D artist, they could open the file or a link and examine the Model in 3D... for free...

Just because you expect only viewing I will mention FaceBookSketchfabClara.ioModelviewer and Acrobat DC

The most straight forward way out from C4D is the 4DPublish plugin.

I will take a look into it, but it does not seem to be what I need. I am thinking more of a rendered out video on a loop that has a 360 camera in it and you can look around in it, look around the 3D object in the video... that is the best way I cam explain it...

  12. Hello 😄 so I was wondering, how can I make this into a file, or maybe some kind of picture which I can send over to someone and they can click on it and watch it in 3D, not as a video, I want them to be able  to interact with it... click on it and turn it around... I want to send this kind of a file to a discord server where many people will be able to see it... even those with ZERO 3D knowledge... Kind of maybe like a 360 camera that you can look around in a video on YT...

Now can you please mark exactly where you want me to make cuts? Use the image below...
    image.png

Well  the way you already cut it is perfect... 😄 Can you send me this model? Cut like that?

  14. 17 hours ago, Igor said:

Can you upload this particular model? If not, I would suggest masking parts of the mesh you don't want to cut and then in one stroke delete part or the model and then repeat. So to create both parts you will duplicate original model and cut one piece from one model and second piece from another mode.

    image.png

If you are slicing your model with curved curve things not gonna work. Thats why using mask could be good idea.

Boolean could be another option too. But there must be a proper way and easy one to do this I am sure.

Tha way where I duplicate, mask and delete could be a problem because I can not mask a perfect mirror mask... I think.. not sue, but will explore that option, here is the model...

Well this might be a memory issue after all. Question is what is that you are trying to render and with which settings. Also monitor vram usage from task manager and see if there is something else eating your memory.

I did monitor it, it was showing about 40% usage... The scene is a few buildings very simple and they are animated to come down into the frame on a tracked footage... The whole thing was fine untill last night... I have no idea what is happening, even a simple scene with a cube will not render, but in Redshift I did a test and all is great... So I am guessed ng the GPU is good... I hope ...

  16. Hi 🙂

Ok so I have been using Arnold render engine for some time now and for some reason it started to give me a problem where it does not want to render out my scene with the GPU, and the CPU render is all white, can not see textures... Apparently it does not have enough memory, but that is stupid, the scene is not very big and something seems to be eating away the GPU memory... and it does the same with a scene that just has a cube with an Arnold material on it...Was working fine through the whole project when I was setting up the scene end texturing, did some test renders all came out fine... What could be causing this, the support team was not of much help and could not find a soulution after googling for hours... 😞 I need to finish this job ASAP...

Whichever motherboard you go for, my advice is go for the lowest one in the range, or at least the one with the least 'gamerly pointless' bells and whistles.

When I built this system I went for the Gigabyte X570 series motherboard with my Ryzen 9, but I went for the UD version of it, which didn't have any of the silly plastic covers or flashy lights that the expensive ones came with, and yet didn't compromise on base features too badly - indeed the only compromise I had to accept was a single nVMe drive port instead of the 2 that came with higher versions. Which was also fine - I only needed one system drive on that. Oh, and maybe a few less USB outs, but I still got 8 so wasn't disappointed there either ! But the point was it cost me 140 (UK pounds) instead of double that, which it would have been to buy the gamer enhanced version ! So worth shopping around and targeting the base spec that gives you everything you need.

I doubt I could recommend the X570s any more - they have long since been usurped I'd imagine, and I haven't had a need to keep up with latest developments, but I think the general point still stands, so should help you narrow down the choices a little if nothing else ! 🙂

    CBR

Yes THX 😄 all the led light and the bels and whistles as you said are not interesting for me, My 1080 had the stock red light and I have those turned of 😄 OK the search continues 😄

C4D is still a single core process for main simulations I believe. That doesn't mean more cores are not still an advantage though. Because of my many cores I can work in Cinema at full speed whilst also playing back 60FPS video and running a hugely powerful DAW like Cubase, and any number of browser tabs or background apps at the same time....

As I type I have all that open, and instances of Cinema R23, 24 and 25, all concurrently !

    CBR

Well it is gonna be a difficult decision, gonna have to make some more research 😄 If you have the time and will I would love it if you put a list of just the main components that you think would be great for a new build. Use is 3D simulations, rendering, adobe programs, and an occasional game...

If AMD processors were any less stable than Intel nobody would buy them. I have been running an AMD in every computer I have owned for the last 15 years and don't consider any of my systems to have been unstable. 'Unstable' itself is the sort of vague and unspecific accusation that doesn't add to its credibility.

AMDs  do run a bit physically hotter than Intels on the whole, so you need adequate cooling, but this doesn't seem to affect stability at all.

    CBR

Well I am leaning on the AMD side for this one, but to be honest it is a lot more expansive... I can get the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 cores 3.4GHz  for 106072.45 EUROS
    or I can get the I9-11900K 8 cores  3.5GHz for 782.41EUROS...

Now, I know more cores is better, but if C4D is still a 1 Core program when it comes to simulations, this does not play into account. However renders would be much faster. But Intel can be overclocked to 5.3 and AMD to 4.9...
I plan to use NZXT water-cooling, the one that comes out of the box prebuilt, with a 3 fan radiator...

  20. I am kind of torn between AMD and Intel... As far as I kniw AMD does not have the stability as Intel... Any idea if that is true? For example a render that would last for days ia more likely to fail on an AMD... Could this be true?

Also need to take the nto acount that I will be doing some simulations in C4R, like water and destruction...
