Images rendered around 2011/2012 with my own unpublished Menger Sponge plugin.
The plugin got developed for Cinema 4D R11.5/R12 and basically worked unchanged until R19. Actually the first plugin I developed for C4D. Could actually be fun to revive it with the new possibilities provided by the new Maxon API and the power of C4D's new core.
I set myself a few goals to achieve with the plugin.:
Recreate an image by fpsunflower in C4D (see image in album). Achieved 🙂
Back then there was still a 32-bit version of Cinema 4D and I wanted it to be able to create a Menger Sponge of order 5 in a 32-bit C4D in a reasonable amount of time. Achieved 🙂
Explore different ways to create Menger Sponges. Implemented, but no achievement, but rather evidence of some inherent nerdiness.
