  1. What throws me off is the head motions. Theyre very smooth and precise. 1:07 is the most dramatic example. That being said, I could show this to anyone at my work and theyd be fooled. Amazing what we can do now!
  2. While yes he may be gone, he may check back. Others feeling the way he is may read the thread as well. We cant take it personally and we can only hope for the best and offer what we know as hopefully helpful information.
  3. having these types of discussions can be good. OP may see opinions of people that have tried blender and c4d both and see their comments and help inform his decision. What software to use a big debate no matter which community you are in.

  9. I recently made a post about the thought of switching from c4d to 3dsmax myself and came to the conclusion that ill be sticking with c4d. While part of my decision was made because I dont want to waste more time learning a whole new software, I truthfully just think you have to find the program thats right for you. if you have issues with c4d you cant overlook or work with than maybe a switch would be good for you. However, there is no reason for the hateful and clearly bias statements towards maxon. They do care and update constantly. Blender will have the same issues and youll realize that after some time spent on blender.
  10. So funny story, a customer called to complain that a white vanity was "too white". She was very unreasonable to say the least. Turns out that she was looking at the product on her computer which had an older monitor that is toned to more of a yellowish tint... Some people you just cant please and thats the sad reality. I was also just told that while we use Sherwin Williams - Salty Dog Blue, its not exactly salty dog blue because the cabinet makers add some sort of thickening to it that darkens the original color slighty. I now have a full cabinet in my office and a drawer on my desk to work this out..
  11. See, I can accept the fact that it cant be truly perfect. The sales team and customers however arent as forgiving. May just need to do an actual photoshoot for some additional product images along with the renders. Thank you for the response, it atleast validated what I already thought.
  12. Im working to add a new color option to our products, before we had simple white, espresso, and gray. Now we are adding "Salty Dog Blue"... I've tried several things to get a good match but customers noticing the slight difference in color and returning the product is my concern. Below are the levels and codes to get the correct color but how do I actually account for the true LRV (light reflectance value) in c4d? If not, how do you work to achieve the exact colors without simply using a reference image. The RGB values for Sherwin Williams SW9177 Salty Dog are 28, 61, 86 and the HEX code is #1C3D56. The LRV for Sherwin Williams SW9177 Salty Dog is 4.28.
  13. This has definitely giving me some insight. For now im going to hold off on switching. The Cosmos models seem promising. Thank you guys so much!
  14. What do you mean about the waiting a bit for c4d? has something been announced?
  15. This has been on my mind alot and im considering learning a new 3D program instead of C4d. My work is all bathroom interior product shots. Rooms and images have to be done quick as we get lots of new products and I only use the same room twice at max so Im making new rooms constantly... The issue is C4D doesnt support mtl files and im extremely jealous of the fast workflow for people in 3dsmax that can drag and drop models in WITH the materials already inplace and essentially perfect if your lighting and scene are realistic. This would increase my workflow greatly. Making the textures isnt hard, but tedious and gets messy when you have 100s of files for textures that you have to manually put on and adjust. I've been hopeful that one day id find a website that specifically does c4d (corona friendly) made models and textures but its such a niche thing that at this point I dont see it happening. (if you are aware of a website that does this let me know please!) I guess what im searching for is others opinions on switching specifically for my reason listed above and if others have gone through this too. Also curious what programs youd suggest for drag and drop (already textured) models? Currently 3ds max seems like the best bet but im open to suggestions!
  16. Have you tried to change the window layout? Window > Customization > Layouts > UV Edit Probably wont help, but this would be the first thing i would attempt if I ran into the issue. Ya never know!
  17. He explains it a few times he explains it but this ones probably the best lol
  18. Butters on the South Park Covid Special explains NFTs perfectly lol.
  19. It happens so fast its hard to see exactly whats happening but ya, i could see them doing a really clean blur and overlaying another model. Probably a lot more simple of a process but they sure fooled me!
  20. something I've noticed in almost all the new animated movies is the use of character morphing and its simply amazing how clean it looks. One of the siblings has the ability to transform into other people and the seamless morphing really caught my eye when I watched it with my kiddo. Maybe its just me, but I feel like im seeing more and more use of character and model morphing in each animated movie that comes out and it just gets cleaner and better executed each time I see it!
  21. I always have issues with R25 when they release a new update for it. Yesterday there was an update so Id try to update it and reopen the scene again. Even if the update doesnt say anything about improved performance, it seems to improve.
  22. Ah yes, we do use the annual plan. I was doing a mentourship when I downloaded R21 and new nothing about c4d. We've since bought the annual every year since. Thank you for clearing that up
  23. Maybe someone can correct me if im wrong here, but dont you pay for a license through maxon that would let you update without buying the next version? I went from r21 to r25 without having to purchase an additional license or additional fees for r25
