  1. I'm using R21.207 and I downloaded this https://grabcad.com/library/kuka-industrial-robotic-arm-1. I can't seem to open it
  2. My machine isn't even all that good, I'm just a student who has a passion for CG (at least for now), I can only dream of a good spec system. Just make sure you get an nvidia card since Arnold requires CUDA My system CPU: i3 GPU: Intel hd 4000 RAM: 4gb I know these aren't even fit for CG, and yeah I can manage to wait for renders with this thing. "2:47:41 for one frame at 720" I'm actually surprised at this since this 4K image rendered roughly at the same speed with this machine! IPR also cleans up rather quickly
  3. For the glow I recommend to put that in after effects or something, the bulb itself doesn't look too good when it has some visible roughness, by that I mean when it's turned off Take advantage of the custom AOVs that arnold offers, just learn the simple expressions, it's one of the reasons it's my fav engine
  4. just pick a falloff that best fits your scene, I just used a linear here to demonstrate Also since you got your lights laid out already use the polyfx instead
  5. I played with this setting and now even if I deleted the whole appdata folder it doesn't work
  6. mesh light in a plain effector make it *-1* to make it disappear btw the bulb with that emission looks off, try making the filament inside the bulb light up instead
  7. I have some ideas for a plugin specifically for Physical render (I know it's a bad idea since redshift is around), what it does essentially is it would compile only the important render settings in one GUI inside the render settings, it's meant for the PBR workflow, but I can't find any learning resources specifically for cinema 4d, It's not meant for anything, other than for fun, there is also this neat plugin called "MagicPreview" from NitroMan, been using it for sometime, it renders faster for some reason although it's kind of broken since it was meant for R13 and I want to recreate the plugin so it works along side the first idea. Any learning resources for suggestion? It might also help to know that I don't have any background on programming or any coding at all, so include a Skillshare/Lynda python course if you have to
  8. I'm not really savvy when it comes to scripts, I barely even know how to use python or xpresso, but I appreciate you for taking the time on writing this! Do you know any resources where I can learn these kinds of stuff? a course maybe?
  9. Just has more features, only thing is, it's a paid plugin, so I don't recommend it much, especially since the volume builder exist
  10. Oh this seems to be one way, but clicking a camera, wouldn't it be the same thing as setting camera to active object a hotkey? Thanks for this though!
  11. Iv'e read some threads about this but up until now I have not seen or know anyone who made a script or at least make a working hotkey
  12. So I'm playing with the matrix object and It's really cool since viewport is extremely fast even with millions of clones, they are currently linked to a TP group and I want to play around with the m aterials are there ways to render it without being limited to hair? I'm kind of liking the viewport render than the actual render itself...
  13. There's a better alternative, NitroMan's NitroCycle, just sayin...
