    Cinema R25 Release

As if someone, many, or everyone could suddenly start working harder and everything would be fine. Tell that to armies who lose wars. Everyone works hard. A company succeeds or doesn't based on a whole slew of factors that don't really come down to how hard people are working, such as leadership, vision, drive, planning, luck, resources, etc. Maxon has been a successful company for as long as I've known it, but continued success doesn't suddenly get guaranteed as long as everyone pledges to keep working hard. If only it were that easy.
  2. The workflow you describe is not advisable. Instead of using keyframes to get the response you need on contact, you should use condition based xpessions that automatically force the required actions to occur when a condition of your choosing is met, instead of using keyframes.
  3. imo B is the only valid reason to ever upgrade an OS. Anything else is just begging for needless headaches and a complete waste of time. Machines are built for the OS of their time, and should never be upgraded unless you need it so much that you would otherwise be forced to buy a new computer that you simply cannot afford. I also recommend never upgrading your graphics drivers, as long as they are working, for the same reason.
  4. Not sure about markers, but keys, no. It's not possible, as it would create complete chaos when scrubbing and a ruined timeline and animation.
  5. I recommend Macs to everyone I know who is completely computer illiterate and couldn't trouble shoot or Google a technical solution thier way out of a paper bag. Not judging because I know many such people who just have different mind sets or priorities, but I can't even fathom professionals who know their way around a 3D app needing such coddling and hand holding, and the exorbitant costs and reduced flexibility that comes with it.
  6. Ir must not have seemed worthwhile to Maxon to keep it up. I can't imagine there was a lot of demand for it and I believe those who opine it was complicated to maintain with Cinema undergoing so many changes so often. Maxon is probably trying to stay as lean as possible to get through the coming years until the transition is finished. That said, it does seem like it wasn't good timing with so many Cinema users now eyeing Houdini as either a supplement to Cinema or at least something to tide them over until Cinema 2.0 is finished.
  7. I wish I could have joined you all but got called to work. 😭
  8. Thanks. So, that's the same limitation as the free version. I wonder why then buy the indie version. 🤷‍♂️
  9. That would be great. Thanks! I wanted to see the exact terms, costs, and what happens when subscription is cancelled. I can't imagine you get to keep using it after cancelling as someone mentioned before. Never heard of a subscription like that. Also wanted to know if things produced with indie version can work in collaboration with those having full pro version, whatever thats called, if pro version can open indie created scenes and vice versa, etc.
  10. I'm interested. Would be cool to live chat about this sometime. This site doesn't have such a feature does it?
  11. I went to Side FX site today to try to figure out what Houdini Indi license costs and entails today but that part of the site is down. Can someone who has it explain it a bit? I just finally cleared a bunch of stuff off my plate that was dragging me down and can finally devote some time to learning something new.
  12. Can I get in on this too? lol

If this thread is truly coming to an end on these notes then I want to proposed this song for the ending credits: https://youtu.be/3IcuqCwfuUw

The childish flippancy, gaslighting and naked ingenuineness of this defense makes me want to puke, and you're supposedly an educator. 🤮 Yeah you didn't mean anything by your name calling, it was actually a term of endearment, even respect! 🤮🤮🤮

I've never been that into getting into the corporate weeds about it, but a person directly invoked responds with some further contest, no matter how significant or how minor, and in return is assigned to live with the Imperial March following everywhere said person goes from now on.

My point is if you want someday to move forward again with a future version of Cinema, you will have to eventually accept the icon and color changes. If you decide not to do so yet, and wait to see what unfolds, I wouldn't discourage that in the least either.

There are some people making custom layouts that use them, but I'd advise you just suck it up. 😎 Muscle memory combined with choosing your old layout should get you there.

Choose to use an old layout and it will behave as it always has.

I don't understand this position, as all the old layouts are still available, and you can import your own customized layout as easily as ever. All that's different is the icons and background color. I know learning new icons can be off-putting as I resisted for a couple of years the last time they were changed, but in the end I finally came around and it wasn't difficult at all.

Yes, I completely agree. Thus I wrote "seems" but in fact I know very well that in the end it's a business decision and really matters not how it seems, unless it ultimately impacts sales in a negative way.

Not having a native renderer would be fine if Maxon decided to charge a little less for C4D as a result, because then people that don't use the built in renderer can save a little by not having to pay for one, but that's of course not what has happened. Letting your render engine die a slow death of neglect but keeping the same price is just, idk, it seems super arrogant.

It looked at least three years away to me a year ago, and judging from the progress since then I would guess we're still three years away.

I actually loved that interface, and kept it for several years after the new one replaced it. 😄

This take is just rediculous. Please let's not let the thread careen into absurb conspiracy theorizing.
