  2. Hi All, As there seem more and more Chaos Vantage users, i want to point out that all our materials beside the few V-Ray dirt concretes materials, also work in Chaos Vantage real time rendering. Like for example from C4D V-Ray via live link to Vantage!

Yes, the placement tool (and scatter) work well for already existing objects in the scene, but I was talking about creating/drawing out the primitives as you model on the surfaces of other objects. I really hope somebody creates a new plugin for this someday, I much prefer working like that as opposed to creating a new primitive and then moving/scaling it over to where you're working every time.

It only gives McGavran and the devs the chance to mess with our heads, the same way a fisherman will playfully poke a Canadian snow crab with a stick before hoisting it into a sack and taking it home to the wife to make a slow-cooker bisque with croutons, pepper, tomato and shrimp.
  6. ahhhh very smart of you happypolygon... so that's ur tactic. intentionally playing dumb to frustrate the devs into correcting your mistakes, therefore making them unintentionally leak information! this is the way!

  8. I saw the inner working of the capsule and was impressed from the simplicity of the math... I didn't expect to see simple operations like these. Every time I look on dynamic systems the theory is full of integrals... Did you convert any integrals to a form of discreet analysis ?
  9. Here is a nice setup I spent too much time on - Lorenz attractor! There is some fancy math inside and controls are available. If you want more performance turn the capsule into spline one without geometry and vertex color generation 210_Lorenz.c4d

  11. Someone get the Maxon guys drunk immediately, if one of them is spilling the beans, it shouldn't be hard to get the others to crack. Something new is coming and it's got particles in it somewhere! Hang on, I think we figured this out a couple of pages ago.

  13. It really isn't a port of any kind, it is a new development from the ground up and any similarities to TP are simply due to it being a particle system as well.

  17. For me, reversing the point order on just the segments where it is wrong works every time... Here's an inexplicably screwed one... Yet if I reverse the point order in the lower segment then voila... I can't tell you why it happens tho - that remains utterly baffling ! In the first example above we can see the spline direction is the same for both segments, so why the cloner does that with it remains a mystery to me. For me, instancing that fixed spline preserves the correction (instanced version on right there), so you would need to upload a scene file which will show us what might be different in your setup vs mine...   19. Hi, I often have this issue and usually deal with it manually, but this time I'd like to understand better what is happening. I have a curve created from a mesh edge, and I'm using it as a target for a Cloner. The thing is there are several segments in the curve object, and the cloned object is sometimes flipped depending on the segment. The thing is if I flip the segment point order with "Reverse Sequence", instances are flipped, but not in the correct orientation. That's usually when I split each segment in their own curve object and deal with this with multiple cloners and custom transform orientation for each one. Is it possible to "unify" the segment orientation and get what I want with only one curve ? Thanks
  20. The new Partition Modifier is better than the Divider plugin because it provides Skew. I will be using it as an alternative to Voronoi Scatter to shatter things like glass.
  21. That drawing thing Blender has does not exist as an interactive tool in C4D. So you have to pre-draw the spline and then use the appropriate populating tool on it. I think the Scatter Pen tool works is what you're looking for. It's free-hand though, no procedural path editing
  22. blender. there's a few free geometry node tools that can add objects onto other objects via drawing. maya can do the same thing I believe with some tools as well. of course houdini. probably max too. Besides that, you could probably project/draw a curve onto your object then use that as a basis for a path which a cloner with primatives could use.

  24. Not exactly what you are looking for, but you can select the the polygon that you want to add the primitive to and go to CREATE>WORKPLANES>ALIGN WORKPLANE TO SELCTION and then make your primitive. You'll still have to adjust, but placement tool would fix it.

  27. awesome. great first tutorial. even as a somewhat intermediate user, I actually learnt a few things even in the first lesson. looking forward to even more and hopefully, a proper scene nodes training guide from beginner to advanced.
