  1. That's really exciting! Makes me droll.
  2. @teknow Thanks for the info! Adding it to the watch list.
  3. @teknow Interesting! Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to fiddle with it once I get time.
  4. @teknow Thanks! Will look it up. I initially thought animation nodes are for mograph stuff only so I didn't try to bother. What I was aiming to do is to create driver and driven relationship using python as the usual driver/driven editor is a bit cumbersome for multiple objects. It's hard to maintain.
  5. @teknow Off topic. Do you all have a community section for C4D users learning Blender? There's this thread of course, of which you participated, but it's hard to ask questions on one single thread. I still use C4D on my personal project but I did get to use Blender (when 2.80 was released) because one of my clients is moving/using to Blender. So far, what I don't like about Blender is lack of "official" support. I tried asking if I donate, do I get an official support. And the answer is not really. It's probably on the higher tier donation. Community support is fine but when you are in a production where you need response within 24 hours, support is really a must. RE: Cycles Indeed, this render engine is a real contender. Not as fast as Redshift (of course since RS is unbiased) but you get a high quality render with GPU power. And with RTX coming along, it is said to be 30-40% more faster. RE: Cycles4D The bummer with the C4D port is because there is no API for the nodes. And there is no details when and what specific features are going to be ported soon. My subscription is going to end soon and I don't see renewing with nothing to look forward. RE: Octane FREE on Blender Correct me if I'm wrong but Octane is Free on Single GPU hardware in Blender.
  6. Interesting. Thanks for sharing!

@Sreckom "Why would not you pay upgrade every year like you did so far? Is that option not available now?" Correct me if I'm wrong but MAXON hasn't release any info about this (that's why it is soooooooooo frustrating). Currently, it is not possible since there are no longer maintenance program which was the previous upgrade. There were unconfirmed details in the forum that MAXON will continue with the "upgrade" perpetual license but at 30% more price increase than before. Basically, to force you to use subscription, instead of the perpetual. (Equally frustrating) I'd like to be proven wrong but that's the extent of my knowledge currently. It doesn't help either that my reseller (a Singaporean company, in my case) is no longer operational. So, I'm not sure where to rely now.
  8. Can we also just see the other suggestions made by the users? So we can upvote them, so they can have more priority.
  9. @Intenditore "Despite there is such page, I'm feeling like nobody is reading and nobody is interested in any thoughts from users anymore. " Same sentiment. I really feel like nobody is reading the submitted suggestions. Even a suggestion for "a better suggestion system" takes time to implement despite the fact that it is independent of the software. One of the feature I like to be implemented is to track the suggestions I submitted. I feel like I have been submitting redundant feature request.

I have no concrete input but I share the sentiment on this: "I feel a bit stupid as the math just does not add up. " "There is no way I would ever give up my perpetual license that's for sure for 2-3 hundred in savings. " Yea, I mean I don't get what MAXON was trying to achieve. But when I did the math, there is no way the offered discount adds up to your perpetual license. It's been awhile now, but it doesn't even amount to 30% of total payment for perpetual license, correct me if I'm wrong. It's offending. It's obscene. Especially when I bought my own personal copy just last year. In addition, I don't get what's the problem of just having them run side by side (i.e. continuing perpetual up to R22, R23, R24 and the subscription). Same way Houdini and Substance are doing. Anyway, thinking all about it now makes me frustrated.
  11. Looking good! I think based on that topology, one of the inspiration is perhaps from Hippydrome. You can check it out here: https://www.hippydrome.com/iBookExmpls.html The author is from Pixar, correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. Yea, the xpCache is somewhat lacking in some features. It sometimes buggy. Maybe you can send the Insydium Support a request for such feature.
  13. RE: 1. In X-Particles (XP), can I slow down a cached version of a particle simulation? Not sure on this one but how about the Scale parameter of the the Cache tag.?
  14. Good luck to anyone entering! FMX presentations (on youtube) are always a delight to watch.
  15. Looks sick! Excited for the last season. Also hopefully, they would show Jon Snow's Ghost!
  16. @Rectro Hi Rectro. How's the plug-in so far?
  17. There is a community steam punk project. You can check with @Igor to see if there is a slot.
  18. Hi, I'm not entirely sure how to do that but the Class 4 of a Python Scripting Course specifically deals with collecting/reading render settings. You can check more here: https://www.fxphd.com/details/339/
  19. Hi @iacdxb I tried sending a PM but it seems like you can't receive any messages in the forum.
  20. Hmmm. That's weird. Can I confirm, you fixed the issue by just copy pasting text without modifying anything?
  21. It's straightforward. File>Export Alembic. If its not working try baking to PLA then File>Export Alembic. Actually, Alembic is already PLA but just to be sure in case it doesn't work.
